How to Borrow

Borrowing privileges are granted to those with West Vancouver Memorial Library cards. You may have up to 50 items checked out at any given time.

Self check-out stations are located in the Main Hall and in the Youth Department. For staff assistance, please take your materials to the Account Services Desk. You will need your Library card number with you. If we have your email address, we will remind you when your borrowed materials are due -- three days in advance! To ensure you receive our circulation notices by email, please add westvanlibrary@westvanlibrary.ca to your list of pre-approved senders.

 Placing Holds

A hold places you on a waiting list for an item if it is not currently available. You may also place a hold on an item that is available, if you would like it to be put aside for you. You may place a hold online, in person, or by calling us at 604-925-7403 (be sure to have your library card number ready.)

We will email you when your hold is available for pick-up. You have 7 days in which to pick up your requested item at the Holds Pick-up Shelf next to the Account Services Desk.

There is a $1 charge for holds that are not picked up.

View, cancel or temporarily suspend your holds by logging in to your Account and clicking on On Hold.
